Best Show on TV

Ok, I know Tasha would probably argue that either "24" or "Lost" would be the best show on TV right now, and I know I've never watched either show, but I am absolutely hooked on "Grey's Anatomy."
In fact, right now I am watching the encore performance of the finale to the two-part "Code Black" episode, which I already watched Sunday night. Admittedly, some of the scenarios in the show, like any television show, are a bit unbelievable. But what I think I really love about this show is the way it explores human relationships. While the scenarios might not be realistic, the way the characters react to their circumstances, and to each other, is right on target with human nature.
This was particularly evident in this current episode, as we watched how all the different characters respond when put under extreme strain, facing an extreme and unpredictable danger (surgically removing live, unexploded ammunition to save the man's life, along with the lives of everyone else in the hospital). There are Meredith and Christina, who are presented as the immediate heroes, the "doers," because they quickly step up and do what needs to be done. There are those who can't cope, like Alex and Izzie, so they retreat, and turn to each other. There are those who distract themselves by ignoring the danger, like Addison, but eventually blow up (excuse the pun) from the bottled-up tension.
But the best story line in this episode is the relationship between George, the mild-mannered, oft-walked-upon intern, and Bailey, the "Nazi" resident surgeon who packs a lot of punch in a little package. Here, you have a woman who is the epitomy of strength who suddenly finds herself in a situation where she can't be strong (giving birth to her first child, while her husband undergoes an emergency operation to save his life after a car wreck, in the OR right next the explosive). Meanwhile George, who doesn't fit our traditional notions of strength, gives Bailey the strength she needs. Watching Bailey in labor, leaning back against gentle George, honestly brought tears to my eyes, last Sunday and a second time around just a minute ago. Of course, we know the real Bailey is back when she chastises George, who is in awe over the emerging infant's head he sees in the mirror: "George! Stop looking at my ba-jay-jay!"
I love this show. And I really love George, because he is the kind of man every woman says she wants, and the kind of man most women miss out on, because we can't see past the slightly lost little boy exterior to the deep well of inner strength that lies beneath.

Just like with "24," I've been watching "Grey's Anatomy" since the beginning and I DO think it's one of the best shows on TV. No arguments here! The writing is great and I can't pick a favorite character because I love them all. You can relate to them one way or another. And for the record, I don't watch "LOST" anymore because it's on at the same time as "Veronica Mars."
